# Program Completion - 30-Day Grace Period Eligibility

## 30-day grace period upon program completion.

### What Is the 30-day Grace Period, and Am I Eligible?

Participants of J-1 visa programs are granted a 30-day grace period at the end of their program to travel within the US, say their goodbyes, and complete any final preparations to return home. The grace period begins on the end date listed on your DS-2019 form. If you completed your program in good standing, you are eligible for the grace period. Please note that you are not authorized to work during the grace period.

If you purchased insurance through Intrax, your insurance will expire the day after the end date printed on your DS-2019 form. If you plan to remain in the US during the 30-day grace period at the end of your program, it is your responsibility to make sure you have insurance coverage.

Intrax can extend your insurance policy for an additional 30 days to cover the grace period for an additional fee. We cannot prorate the cost for a shorter duration. Contact Intrax at [intsupport@intraxinc.com](mailto:intsupport@intraxinc.com) or call [888-224-0450](tel:+18882240450) at least two weeks before the end of your program, and our support staff will issue you an invoice and extend your insurance policy.
